Easy to Get Started

Three ways to find out where your roof stands, all of them free

You do not have to decide anything to find out what your roof needs. Every one of these costs nothing and none of them puts you under any obligation.

A free roof inspection, with no obligation

We get on the roof, photograph what we actually find, and give you a straight repair-versus-replace answer. It costs nothing and it commits you to nothing. If the roof has years left in it, that is what we tell you.

Book the free inspection →

A ballpark before anyone visits your home

Not ready for a person on your roof yet? The instant estimator measures your roof from satellite imagery and returns a replacement range in a few minutes, with no visit and no phone call.

Financing, including 0% APR for qualified homeowners

A roof rarely fails at a convenient moment. Qualified homeowners can access 0% and low-interest plans through PowerPay, applied for online with no obligation, so a needed replacement does not have to wait on the full amount up front.

See financing options →

Storm or hail? We deal with the carrier

We document the damage the way an adjuster needs to see it, write the scope ourselves, and meet them on the roof. Filing early matters, because carriers deny claims filed long after the storm that caused them.

Storm & hail damage →

Financing is provided through PowerPay and is subject to credit approval. Available terms, rates, and 0% APR promotional plans vary by qualification. Clear Roofing & Exteriors does not make credit decisions. Financing is optional and is never required to receive a free inspection or estimate.

Simple & Transparent

How it works

Four steps, in order, from the first phone call to the day we drive away. No stage of this is a surprise.

  1. Step : 01

    Free inspection

We get on the roof and into the attic where it makes sense, photograph what we find, and for storm damage we document every hit for your insurance carrier while the evidence is fresh.

  2. Step : 02

    Honest estimate

You get a clear, written recommendation and price, line by line, with an honest repair-versus-replace call. If the roof has life left, we say so and quote the smaller fix.

  3. Step : 03

    Expert installation

Our experienced crews replace or repair your roof with quality materials, on schedule and to code. Most houses take a day or two once the weather cooperates; steep or multi-layer roofs take longer, and we tell you that up front.

  4. Step : 04

    Warranty & cleanup

We run the magnet sweep, haul off every scrap of tear-off, and stand behind the work with real manufacturer-backed warranties. That's how our reputation gets built, one roof at a time.

Real Jobs, Not Case Studies

What we found, and what we did about it

Four real jobs, reconstructed from what the homeowners themselves wrote about them on Google. Nothing here is a composite or a marketing example. The customer’s own words are printed underneath each one so you can check ours against theirs.

Hail damage · insurance claim · full replacement · September 2023

The homeowner wanted to understand every step before he signed anything

What we found

He had hail damage and his carrier was already behind him, but he wanted to follow the job technically and financially, not just be handed a number. Chris, the consultant on the job, walked him through exactly what went into the estimate before anything started. Once the crew was on the roof, some minor catches turned up that nobody could have seen from the ground.

What we did

Those extras were absorbed as a matter of policy rather than coming back as a change order. Zach, the foreman, kept him posted on progress and on the problems as they came up, through the install and the inspection. Chris then came back and inspected it a second time himself.

How it ended

After the job closed there was a snag processing the insurance check. That got worked through patiently until he was able to make final payment.

“All jobs have pop-up problems. I understand this and was prepared for snags. Some minor catches were discovered on my roof, but as a matter of policy, CE absorbed the expense.”
· David B., verbatim from his or her Google review

Stalled replacement · taken over mid-claim · December 2023

Another contractor had the job and it was going nowhere

What we found

The homeowner was already working with a different contractor on his roof replacement and it had stopped moving. In his words, they did not seem to understand what to do.

What we did

Clear Exteriors picked the job up, coordinated with the adjuster, and then carried out the replacement.

How it ended

His summary of the difference was one sentence: once they got involved, everything went smooth.

“Fortunately, Clear Exteriors were in my neighborhood and once they got involved everything went smooth. They know Roofs.”
· Mohd N., verbatim from his or her Google review

Second opinion · line-by-line pricing · February 2024

She only called for a second opinion

What we found

She was not shopping for a new roofer. She phoned Phil for a second opinion on what she had already been told, and he talked her through the process and the steps to take from that first call.

What we did

He went through the costs line by line rather than handing over a lump sum, and the software the company runs produced her paperwork and estimate on the spot instead of days later.

How it ended

She switched companies on that call. The crew left the yard clean, then came back a few days later, after the lawn had been mowed, to run one more scan for loose nails.

“He made everything clear, took time to explain all the costs line by line… They even came back a few days later after the lawn was mowed to do one more scan for any loose nails.”
· Stacey C., verbatim from his or her Google review

Insurance claim · then hired again

He hired us for his own roof, then for his mother's

What we found

The first job came in as an insurance claim on his own home, and he needed help getting it processed as much as he needed a roof.

What we did

The claim was worked through with him, the roof was installed, and the site was cleaned up after. He describes the follow-up afterwards as extraordinary.

How it ended

Some time later he called back and hired the same company to put a roof on his mother's house. Same crew standard the second time; his mother was thrilled with it.

“How many times do you get a chance to review a vendor who put a roof on twice? After a very successful installation at my home I hired this company to put a roof on my mom's home.”
· D D., verbatim from his or her Google review

Some reviews still arrive by hand

Handwritten thank-you card to owner Stephen Mattiola from customer Marie, July 9, 2026 Handwritten thank-you card to owner Stephen Mattiola from customer John after a roof repair, July 28, 2026

Most of our five-star reviews land on Google. These came on paper.

After her project wrapped, a customer named Marie mailed a card to Stephen and the crew:

“Thank you for all your help, as well as all of your team. I would recommend you and this company anytime.”
· Marie, handwritten card, July 2026

A roof repair customer named John wrote to Stephen at the end of July, after the two of them settled the job and the price face to face:

“It was nice meeting you and working with you on my roof repair. Thank you for an excellent job and for working with me on the pricing.”
· John, handwritten card, July 2026

When the work is done right, people take the time to say so. The Google reviews below are the rest of the story.

Why Homeowners Choose Us

Roofs done the right way

  • Roof-Replacement specialists

Full replacements in asphalt, metal, cedar and slate are our core work, not an afterthought bolted onto handyman jobs. Tear-off to the deck, sheathing checked and repaired, ice-and-water shield at the eaves, flashing rebuilt at every chimney and valley. That last detail matters because nearly every leak we chase starts at flashing someone reused.

  • Hail & storm insurance experts

We document the damage and guide you through the insurance claim, so a covered roof replacement is straightforward. Hail rarely punches a hole. It crushes the shingle mat and strips granules at each hit, and those bruises are what we photograph and present to your adjuster on the roof itself.

  • Family owned & operated

Registered across PA, NJ and DE, with our name standing behind every roof. Owner Stephen Mattiola runs the company, project manager Zach runs the crews, and Nick handles sales and keeps homeowners posted. The people whose names are on the business are the ones on your job.

  • Free, honest inspections

We show you photos and give you a straight repair-versus-replace answer. No scare tactics, no pressure. Plenty of inspections end with us telling the homeowner the roof has years left and a small flashing repair will hold it.

More about who actually shows up

Who Actually Shows Up

The people on your roof work for the family that owns the company

That is one of our own crews mid-replacement on a brick colonial, photographed on our job site. Clear Roofing & Exteriors is family owned and operated: owner Stephen Mattiola runs the company, project manager Zach runs the crews, and Nick handles sales and keeps homeowners posted.

We are registered where we work (PA Home Improvement Contractor registration PA179710 · NJ HIC registration 13VH12512800 · Delaware business license 2023708270), and every job is run by our own people, not a rotating cast of subs you meet on the morning of the tear-off.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer free roof inspections and estimates?

Yes. Every roof inspection and estimate is free. We get on the roof, check the flashing, valleys, and eaves where leaks actually start, photograph what we find, and give you a clear repair-versus-replace recommendation before any work or cost. If the honest answer is that the roof has years left, that is the answer you get.

Do you help with storm and hail damage insurance claims?

Yes. Storm and hail damage is a specialty of ours, and we support you through the insurance process, documenting the damage and working with your carrier toward a fair roof replacement. We photograph the bruised mats and stripped granules that hide from ground level, write the scope ourselves, and meet the adjuster on the roof so the approved claim reflects the real repair rather than a lowball first offer.

What roofing materials do you install?

Asphalt shingle, metal, cedar shake, and slate, plus gutters, siding, and windows. Architectural asphalt covers most homes; standing-seam metal, cedar, and slate suit the older and higher-end housing stock around West Chester's historic blocks. For a full roof replacement we help you choose the right system for your home and budget, and as a GAF Master Elite contractor we can register manufacturer warranties most companies cannot offer.

Where are you located and what areas do you serve?

We have two locations, West Chester and Pittsburgh, PA, and serve West Chester, West Goshen, Uwchland, Westtown, Glen Mills, Chester Springs, Exton, Downingtown, and the surrounding communities. The West Chester office covers Chester County and the western Philadelphia suburbs; the Pittsburgh office covers Allegheny County and the neighborhoods around Mount Washington, Dormont, and the South Side.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, and here is how to check it rather than take our word for it. Our registrations are held under our legal name, Clear Exteriors LLC, so that is the name to search, not the brand: Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor registration PA179710, New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration 13VH12512800, and Delaware business license 2023708270. We are insured, and documentation is available on request.

How long have you been in business?

Clear Roofing & Exteriors is an established, family-owned roofing and exterior company. Owner Stephen Mattiola runs it, project manager Zach runs the crews, and they still walk jobs themselves. Our experience across this region means we have already worked on a house like yours.
